The Amalfi Coast
On Thursday we took the Cervelo Test Team guests along the Amalfi Coast towards Sorrento, part of the Stage 19 route of the Giro d’Italia. It was a hot one with temps in the mid 30′s. The scenery? absolutely breathtaking. The roads are a bit sketchy – a two lane road and some areas you have to yield to oncoming traffic. We took extra care in making sure our guests were safe with two support vehicles. Our guests were also graced by the prescence of Cervelo Test Team rider Dominique Rollin who rode with them the whole way out. The ride was 60K with a few climbs. We stopped a few times to take in the views and have a break for water, Zipvit, or cappuccino.

We had a nice poolside lunch in at Hotel Villa Maria in Sorrento before driving back to Cava de’ Tirreni. A few of the guests rode back with Dominique to get more kms in. Back at the hotel Filmmaker Booker Sims (“Beyond The Peloton“) had arrived to join us for the duration to capture some of the guest activity as well as the final stages. I can’t tell you how tired I was when I got back. In my room I fell over in exhaustion from lack of sleep. By the time I woke up it was dinner time. We headed into town to Borgno Scacciavente where we stuffed ourselves with courses and courses of amazing food.
