Here’s something we didn’t see at Interbike last September (and somehow my mom manage to see it before i did!) It’s a foldable electric powered bike conceived by successful New Zealand entrepreneur Grant Ryan. Looks like a fun ride for commuters or going around town. At 25kph (15mph) max speed it’s probably not fast enough for the racers in us but faster than the Segway (12.5mph) and way cooler or less dorky (take your pick). It claims to go up to 10k on one charge which is plenty to get around SF. But I’d love to find out how it would perform with the hills here… The carbon fiber frame makes it a portable 10kg (22lbs). But the price tag? $4,450. Ouch.
